When you first step through the waharoa tapu of the tangata whenua should be observed. The tangata whenua started the karanga which was the call. The manuhiri started to walk forward towards the marae.
When you get to the entrance, you had to, take off your shoes because it was part of the maori protocol. Once you had taken off your shoes you could go inside and sat on the mat. Before you do the activities the tangata whenua tell you their names and they go over some rules. For example if you are not listing then they will say Whakarongo and you always have to put up your hand if you want to say something.
We sang three Maori songs and one person did a mi-hi about himself. Then the people gave us some food. We had one biscuit and water. After that,we did activities, only some people did it. A girl named Brenda taught us a Maori song with actions and it was really fun.
Later on the boys did the Haka and they were really fierce and it was kind of scary.
A little girl named Emma Jacks is a Netball player. But then she moved to Africa. She went to Africa because her mum won a trip there for a safari. Emma Jacks was sad because she had to leave her friends behind. At the same time she was really excited. Emma Jacks loves netball but, when she goes touring at Africa she gives up netball and wants to be a traveller.

In the biggest, brownest muddiest river in Africa there lived two crocodiles one was big and one was small. The big one liked to eat little juicy children every day for lunch, breakfast and dinner. The small one liked to eat fish, and never likes to eat children. My favourite character is the small crocodile because he doesn't like to eat small children just like me. I would rate this book a 8 out of 10 because it had lots of similes in it and it was really interesting.
Lord thankyou for the nature that you have created and you have showed me your greatness and your love. This daisy has shown me your love. This daisy feels like a soft pillow yet it has no smell. It looks like a beautiful petal always praising your greatness.
