Passion Project: Drawing

In term 2, we have been doing passion projects. Our task was to choose a passion of ours and present it in any way we want. We had to choose people and teach them whatever passion we chose. Some people did Slime, Baking, Dance and many more.We had about 6 weeks to plan and create everything. Then after that, we had to present to the whole class or just to some people. I chose drawing and presented to a group of 10. I taught them how to draw a yin yang with designs in it and a rose.

Mother's day poem

🌹Happy Mother's day🌹
When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you wash the dirty dishes
And I knew that it’s good to help out

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you making me pancakes for breakfast
So that I didn't go hungry
And I knew that little things, are special
things

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I heard you in the kitchen at night baking
cookies for my class bake sale
And I learnt to put others before myself

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I watched you  and dad
make dinner for our big family
And I learnt multitasking isn't easy

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you wash my dirty clothes
And I knew that it’s good to always be clean

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you ringing your work to take the day of
For Alyssa because she was sick
And I knew that it’s good to sacrifice for others

When you thought I wasn't looking
I looked…..
And wanted to say Thanks for everything you have
done for me when you thought I wasn't looking

Writing: An Ode To Saint Joseph

An ode to Saint Joseph

O’dearest Saint Joseph,
Your smile lights up like a shooting star,
Your eyes twinkle in the night sky like an everlasting candle,
The way you talk is like music in my ears,
The way you inspired others inspired me more

Born in 90 BC, Bethlehem
Was the husband of Mary and father of Jesus
Worked as a carpenter
Was the only child
Died on July 20th AD in Nazareth,Israel
Feast day is on 19 March

O’Saint Joseph, What was it like becoming a Saint?
What did you have to do to become a saint?
Did you ever imagine that you would become a saint?
Who was your inspiration and role model?
You were a loving father and husband
Your inspiration towards others is a lesson to us all
You truly made the world a better place

Task card: Keyboards, Past and present

Keyboards, Past and Present

  1. What are some different types of keyboard instruments?
- Piano, Electric Keyboard, Pipes, Flute, Organs, Clavichord, Harpsichord.

2. Why are pipe organs used in Churches and Cathedrals?
- Because each pipe produces a single pitch and it
has a different volume.

3. How was the piano designed so that its volume could be changed?
- In the Ancient world, Strings were attached and stretched over bows, gourds and boxes to amplify the sound. They were fastened by pegs, ties and pins so that it could produce different sounds.

4. Why would musicians want to be able to change the volume of the instrument they played?
- They wanted to change it because they wanted it to be more interesting and so that it could have more volume.

5. Why do you think musicians use the piano when they work on new compositions?
- Because they might want to change the volume and style of the music.
6. Which instrument has greater range of pitch: Harpsichord on page 3  or the Piano on page 4?
- We think the Piano because it is called a Pianoforte. Piano means “Soft”, and forte means “Loud”.

7. Why do people enjoy playing portable keyboards?
- Because they can take it wherever they want to go.
