science showcase

Science showcase.
Yesterday, we had a science showcase and I liked it because we got to go to different classes. The most interesting thing I found was Ida’s M&M experiment because if you put M&M in the water the colours spread. I also learnt that if you put a tablet in a lava lamp the lava lamp explode. Next time, I would love to have another science showcase because it was so fun to learn new things.

Kakapo

Kakapo

A kakapo is a type of parrot. When a kakapo is fully grown it can measure up to 60 centimeters and weigh up to 40 kilograms, the females are much smaller. Most  kakapos eat totara berries,
kahikatea berries and supplejack berries. Kakapos are also herbivore birds and they are flightless. They are also the heaviest parrot in the world.

Kakapos are nocturnal like owls because they come out in the night and they hunt in the forest.
They are endangered species facing extinction, so care and attention are given to this rare bird. This bird lives in a secret place near Nelson. Kakapos are a greenish coloured like a puffball and they are so cute. When the breeding season starts the male bird screams and screeches.
I love kakapos and I hope they don't die.
