What makes a good teacher

What makes a good teacher?

Introduction-
“What makes a good teacher?” In my opinion, I think that a good teacher needs to be encouraging, supportive, funny, helpful and many more. At times a teacher can be very boring, but other times, they can be really fun. A good teacher would have a good personality and also a good sense of humour. They need to provide skills, qualities and attitudes to the students to show and teach them how to be a good person and a good role model to others.

Determination-
A good teacher needs to have the skill of being organised and also tidy. They need to be prepared and motivated in getting work ready for the next day. They need to be determined in teaching the students and also be able to listen other people’s opinions. The goal for most teachers is to give us the best education they can and teach us as much as possible. Every teacher in the world should give us work that is up to our level of ability.. They need to have knowledge of their own to be a good teacher and to teach us more about life. There is a quote that talks about a teacher being like a compass. A compass leads us in the right direction and that’s what teachers want to do for us.

Supportive-
Every teacher needs to be supportive of their students because that’s the main thing that boosts our confidence. We need to feel loved and cared for knowing that there are people willing to help us. A good teacher would support and encourage all their students without picking  favourites. Sometimes a teacher focuses or likes one person in particular and doesn’t exactly have time or spend time with anyone else. By this action, it is very easy for anyone to feel left out. Even just a smile from a teacher to someone else, can brighten up their day. If you ever see someone lonely, don’t just look at them, go up to them and ask them if they are okay or just give them a smile. So, if you ever see your teacher somewhere, smile at them and that deed might return back to you.

Acceptance-
“Don’t judge someone on how they look on the outside, but on the inside which counts” In my opinion, I think that every single person should be accepted for who they are even if they are a different colour from you, a different religion from you, or even a different culture. As a teacher, you shouldn’t have the option to choose people who are pretty, skinny or light coloured. But as a good teacher, you should accept everyone as they were made because how would you feel if someone didn’t like you only because you were a different colour from them? Sometimes it can be hard to accept others but it’s the right thing to do. You don’t have to be friends with others but you can always be friendly. The main thing though, is that we all accept each other and that goes for everyone including teachers and adults.

Conclusion-
In conclusion, I think that a good teacher is a person who is a good role model and someone who respects others. My 3 points that I gave was about determination, supportiveness, and acceptance. There are so many more things that a good teacher needs to have and be but I think that the points I gave, explains enough of the standards a good teacher needs to be.
