Softball Reflection

Softball tournament reflection 2018

“Wow, This is a really big field!” I said to myself. On Thursday the 1st of March,
we went to May Road Memorial Park where our softball tournament was held. As
my team and I were walking, we could feel the drops of wet grass going into our socks and
felt as if there was a washing machine inside our shoes. As soon as we got there,
we all started practising our pitching, catching, and throwing.
The horn squeaked as loud as my voice! The games had began!. For our very first game,
we versed Ponsonby Intermediate. We had lost against them but I thought that our team
did really well especially since it was our first softball game. We next had versed St.Joseph's
Onehunga and we scored more home runs than them but, when it was their turn to bat,
they didn’t go through all their players because they had run out of time so in softball it is
known as a nil draw. I was quite pleased that there was a draw because, it was only our second game
and we didn’t lose! “Phew” Already by the second game it was getting super duper hot.
It felt as if my face had been put in a burning hot frying pan! When we came to our very last game,
we versed Pasadena intermediate. By this point, my team and I were all really really tired
and our legs were hurting. We just all wanted to lay down. We still tried our best. It was finally
the end of our game and everyone was cheering each other on because we had won our game!
No matter if we won our games or not, we all had fun which was the main thing that mattered.
Plus, I guess, in this case, we’re all winners right!

Our softball results:

CTK (4) versus Ponsonby Intermediate (7)
CTK versus ST.Joseph’s Onehunga (DRAW)
CTK (6) versus Mt.Roskill intermediate (7)
CTK (1) versus Royal oak Intermediate (2)
CTK (2) versus Remuera Intermediate (7)
CTK (0) versus Waikowhai Intermediate (8)

CTK (10) versus Pasadena Intermediate (0)
