Matariki is a Maori tradition that is celebrated every year. Matariki means the seven clusters and some people think of it as the mother star with six daughters and referred as the seven sisters. Matariki appears in the Eastern sky around the shortest day of the year. Matariki is a very special tradition because it only comes once a year. Matariki is also special because it’s something that belongs to everyone mostly the Maori’s. It is special to the Maori’s because it is their culture. Most people think that Matariki should be celebrated every year. Do you think it should be celebrated every year? Matariki appears in the end of May and continues to the early June.
