Week 1, Day 4: Summer learning journey- Activity 1: Scaling new heights

Summer learning journey- Activity 1: Scaling new heights

Task:
Let’s imagine that you met Sir Edmund Hillary in real life and were able to interview him.
On your blog, post five questions that you would like to ask Sir Edmund Hillary about his life.
  • Why did you want to climb to the top of Mount Everest?

  • What were some of the challenges and struggles you faced climbing Mount Everest?

  • How long did it take you to climb Mount Everest?

  • Who or what inspired you to climb Mount Everest?

  • When you were climbing Mount Everest, did you ever think of giving up because it was too hard?

  1. Kia Ora, AJ!
I found you on Amanda's blog :) so I decided to come on your blog and comment on one of your SLJ activites.

First of all I would like to say how AWESOME this looks!. You have added an image and added REALLY interesting questions. If you actually asked Edmund Hillary these questions I'm sure you will be pleased by the answered you will receive.

I loved that one question "What were some of the challenges and struggles you faced climbing Mount Everest?" because you are asking him why he didn't give up or if the challenge was hard because I know that people did climb Mt Everest but never made it up to the top.

Anways, Congratulations on this wonderful piece of work

    Cheers,
    Roseena

  2. Hi AJ,

I’m Dani, I’m a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey. I grew up in Northland then I moved down to Auckland to study and now I live in Three Kings. I normally spend my time in the Kaikohekohe cluster but we decided I should see some of the awesome posts in the Ako Hiko cluster! I am looking forward to spending some time in Ako Hiko and I hope to see some great posts!

Well done on creating some great questions for Sir Ed! I can only imagine what it was like for him climbing Mt Everest, but i’m sure there were times where he wanted to give up. Sir Ed showed great resilience and persistence to overcome everything and to get to the top of Mt Everest. Climbing Mt Everest these days is still very hard but it is now a common thing for people to put on the bucket lists. Do you think you would ever want to climb Mt Everest? I had a friend climb to Base Camp which is at the base of the Everest. She said it was a very long 12 day hike just to get to base camp but she loved the experience.I think I would love to climb to base camp but I’m not so sure about the massive hike up Mt Everest.

I look forward to reading more of your blog soon!

    Blog ya later!

    Dani
